Description:
We all know the haka - we see it every time our beloved All Blacks take the field - but how much do we really know about it?
Karl Burrows originally hails from Taranaki but has lived in London for nearly 20 years. Formerly a lawyer in both NZ and London with an MBA from Cranfield University, Karl threw in corporate life in 2004 to set up Manaia, a professional London based kapa haka with friends. This led to another venture - Haka Works - https://www.hakaworks.com - utilising tools from Maori culture to energise events, build teams and connect people to values. Karl and his team work with companies all over the world sharing the values implicit in haka - authenticity, whanau/ team, bravery and purpose - and teaching haka as a way to viscerally experience the concepts Karl shares - energy, building connections and aligning to purpose.
Karl is looking forward to meeting everyone at the next Kiwis in Property event to talk about his journey into business, sharing some basics and answering questions on haka and its applicability to modern organisations. Only 50 places available so book now.
You can view a one minute trailer of Karl's talk here and the full talk can be found on our speaker videos page
